SUMMERHOW HOUSE is a fine, substantial country house of distinctive and unique character set in four acres of well maintained gardens and orchard.

Dating originally from 1650, the house has been lovingly restored to provide luxurious accommodation and offering two en suite bedrooms, both furnished with antique and decorative furniture. Guests have access to the main house with it's imposing Drawing Room, oak panelled Dining Room and a Conservatory leading out to a terrace and croquet lawn. In the Summer, come and have a glass of wine and stroll in the garden or just sit on the terrace, take in the scenery and admire the views. In Winter, relax and cosy up to a roaring log fire in elegant surroundings.

Sleep in beautifully decorated, comfortable, sunny Bedrooms with great views of the country by day and peace and quiet at night. Guests will be offered a traditional, hearty breakfast with locally sourced produce in the Dining Room or on the terrace, weather permitting.

Whilst rural in character, Summerhow is only two miles away from the busy market town of Kendal which offers Superb Shopping, Cinema, Leisure Centre, Museums, Art Galleries, Riverside Walks and Houses of Historic Interest.

Kendal boasts a large choice of Restaurants, Gourmet Pubs and Coffee bars.

We are excellently located for visiting The South Lakes and The Yorkshire Dales. Windermere is an eight mile drive or train journey and is a perfect starting point to explore The Lakes, Bowness, Ambleside, Grasmere or further afield.

There is ample parking space at SUMMERHOW and locked storage for bikes with a Drying/Boot Room. Cyclists and Walkers are always welcome. Please note that we cannot accomodate children under the age of five - sorry!
